PRP is an all-natural treatment that can slow down hair loss, strengthen skin quality and prevent wrinkles. Did you know that your own blood can be used for beauty treatments?
Blood consists of red and white blood cells as well as platelets and blood plasma. PRP stands for Platelet-Rich Plasma and consists of concentrated platelet-rich plasma that is collected from your own blood and injected back into the treatment area for beauty purposes.
Platelets are an important part of our blood. It not only stops bleeding, but contains several growth factors that are important for repairing damage. It is a recognized treatment method that was first used for orthopedic medicine and sports medicine. More recently, it has also become more and more common for cosmetic treatments by utilizing the growth factors to counteract hair loss, skin regeneration, "Vampire Facials" and more.
First, we draw blood as in an ordinary blood test. The blood is then centrifuged. By centrifugation, the different components of the blood are separated. The red blood cells fall at the bottom of the test tube. Above the red blood cells we find the white blood cells and platelets in the middle. The plasma settles on top. We extract the concentrated growth cells which are then injected into the relevant treatment areas. When treating hair loss it is injected into the scalp and when treating scars or skin it is injected there.
The concentrated growth cells can also be used as serum for micronone / mesotherapy.
By injecting your own growth factors, you are helping your cells. The hair will get enough nourishment to grow thicker and faster, scars will become less visible and the skin will regain the glow and resilience. Recommended treatment areas are under the eyes, scars and hairline. PRP can produce great results but treatment must be done several times over time. 4-5 treatments are recommended every 4 weeks. Thereafter, a maintenance treatment should be repeated at least once a year. The effect can usually be seen 8-12 weeks after the first treatment.
Since PRP is made up of your own blood, there are no side effects.
